Community is a group of people sharing a common history, interest or goal. The Irish Australian Support Association Qld supports the Irish community in Brisbane and Queensland in a variety of ways. Our end goal is to facilitate a joining of the Irish Community, fostering positive relationships and creating a focal point for the Irish in Brisbane.
Our community comprises of single migrant workers, temporary and permanent visa holders, families, seniors, and other groups within the area that require our assistance.
Irish people have a history of helping those less fortunate than themselves, and we are continuing that tradition. In the past help and assistance was provided on an ad hoc basis.
We are trying to support the vulnerable Irish and Irish Australians in the broader community; they may be elderly and isolated; they may have lost a life partner; they may have a dependency which they cannot manage.
We achieve our goals by drawing different sections of our community together through special events, information sessions, and active support and assistance to those who need a helping hand.
